Nice Weather is a minimalist weather application with a user friendly interface and a background color that alters with the weather itself. By allowing you to simply and easily drag your finger along the timeline, you can see what weather is forecasted. Simple, elegant and minimalist, if you like your weather fuss free and looking good, this is one to check out.

Currently lacks widgets, multiple location support and preferences (but these are coming soon).Nice Weather is a simple and beautiful weather application for Android. Featuring bold-weather-related colors, a sliding forecast explorer and useful tidbits of information such as temperature, chance of rain and wind speed, it’s very stripped down and minimalist.
When you first open the app, it finds your location and presents you with a straightforward icon which tells you the current weather. Beneath this there is separate notifications for wind speed, temperature and chance of rain. The color will change dependent on the weather so, it’s sunny now so it is yellow. Tomorrow forecasts cloud so it’s grey… and so on.
Along the bottom of the screen is an interactive slider which takes you through the hours of the day. Simply slide your finger along and the screen will change with the forecasted weather. It’s smooth to use and gives you greater forecast accuracy. You can swipe across directly to the next day (up to five days) and see the predicted weather for different hour segments by continuing to use the slider.
The app is nice to use but there’s no getting away form the fact that it is VERY minimalist and without any frills whatsoever. I like simplistic and functional, but this is a little too basic even for me. It needs a few things to improve it and thankfully the developer promises these in the Google Play Store description. A widget would give the app extra functionality. More settings and personalisation would also be superb and you can only currently have one location. All of these features should be included in future updates so even if the basic functionality puts you off, it’s worth keeping track of if you are in the market for a new weather app.
For telling you the weather, giving you a clue as to whether to take a raincoat or seeing if it’s going to be sunny over the weekend, the app is pretty useful. It does lack a few features, as described above, but if such elements are included in a future update, they will only improve the usability of the app as a whole.
Nice Weather is blissfully simplistic to use and very intuitive. The hour slider gives you an accurate and user-friendly indication of upcoming weather patterns and the graph-style interface is very easy to use.
The big question right now is whether it offers enough to replace you existing weather app as your daily driver. I think it needs a little more to it before it can do that, but if you like your weather applications stripped down (and I mean really basic), this is a decent option and updates regularly enough to be used throughout any given day or week.
The interface is, well, minimalist. I know I’m over using that word now but it’s certainly going to appeal to fans of the bare aesthetic. If anything, it reminds me a little of another weather app we reviewed recently – oW Weather.
